Honors Algebra II

Course Description

Algebra II is the third course in the New York State high school mathematics curriculum that began with Algebra I and Geometry.  The honors-level curriculum will be taught at a higher level and students will be encouraged to build and use important critical thinking skills.  The Algebra II NextGen Regents exam is part of the requirements for an Advanced Regents Diploma.  The NextGen curriculum, instruction, and assessment will focus on procedural knowledge, conceptual understanding, problem solving applications, and real-world connections of mathematical concepts. Graphing calculators will be used throughout the year to enhance and support your understanding of mathematics in all units of study.  I look forward to working with you throughout this school year and please do not hesitate to ask me for assistance if and when it is needed.
