Any eligible candidate interested in becoming a member must complete and submit the Candidate Information Packet to Mrs. Wilson (Gym) on or before the due date.
Students who meet the "Scholarship" requirement (88% GPA) at the end of their sophomore and junior years will receive a letter inviting them to consider becoming a member of NHS.
Students who wish to be considered by the faculty for invitation will then complete the "Candidate Information Packet" and submit it by the established deadline, indicating their interest and providing the Faculty Council with the additional information required to consider Leadership, Service, and Character

Mrs. Wilson will meet with all prospective candidates and let them know the decision of the Faculty Council
Anyone not selected for membership may reapply the following year.
If a candidate is not accepted into the Skene Mountain Chapter of the National Honor Society, they may appeal this decision
Students will be asked to fill out a candidate packet in the third quarter of their 9th, 10th or 11 grade year if they have a cumulative average of a 90% or greater.
The candidate packet asks that students share their leadership roles and community service completed since the beginning of high school.
