PAWS Code

As you will find when reading the student handbook, we have adopted a school-wide behavior plan to promote positive behavior throughout the school. In the handbook, you will find a brief overview of the PAWS Code. At the beginning of the year, your child will be learning the PAWS Code expectations in all of our learning areas. These codes are attached below.

As the children follow the PAWS Codes he or she will have many opportunities to be rewarded for positive contributions to our classroom community. Students are given individual PAWS for positive behavior. Student behavior will be communicated with you in your child’s daily communication folder.

At the end of every second week, the students will visit the PAWS Store where the students may choose to redeem their individual paws for tangible and non-tangible rewards. In addition to individual paws, each class will also have the opportunity to earn class paws when every student is displaying positive behavior. When the class has earned 20 class paws, the students will choose a class reward.

This program is research-based and is proven to promote positive behavior in students. This behavior plan will be consistent throughout your child’s educational career at Rabun County Primary School. We are thrilled to begin this year on a positive note! We look forward to working with you and your child to make this year a success.

Here are the PAWS Codes for the various learning areas.
