2009 Summer Challenge

Honoring the Haiku

The Haiku is a poem that uses compact language to paint a vivid mental image, usually describing everyday subjects such as nature, feelings, or experiences.  Important in Japanese culture, a haiku usually has three short, non-rhyming lines: five syllables, seven syllables, five syllables.

The 2009 Challenge asked us to find or write a Haiku and transform it into a quilt.  The quilt could be any shape, but no smaller than 12" and no larger than 36" on a side.
