COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is offered to all students attending Queensbury High School. Students taking this course will learn how to tie together audio, video, photo, live broadcasting, and other communications with media productions. Students will have the opportunity to create various video projects including news broadcasting on the QHS Morning Show (optional), TV commercials, biographies, documentaries, music videos, news interviews, movie trailers, and more!
GRADES & SCORING
Every course assignment will have a total amount of points possible to earn, of which the student will earn some percentage with participation. Most files will be submitted to the instructor electronically. Receiving a final average lower than 65% is considered a "fail" for this course.
Assignments/Projects are worth 70% of the overall grade.
Quizzes are worth 10% of your overall grade.
Participation is worth 20% of the overall grade.
PARTICIPATION & TARDINESS POLICY
Students are encouraged to actively participate during class, which includes staying on task during independent or partner project work. Participation will be a grade between 0-100 points. This grade will be worth 20% of the final grade.
If a student arrives late to the class without a pass, they will be warned once. The second time a student arrives to class late they will be marked tardy. Further tardiness will result in detention, parent phone call, referral and/or detention.
