COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is offered to all students attending Queensbury High School. In this course we will learn about and utilize various adobe programs to combine text and graphics for the production of printed documents such as newsletters, brochures, books, logos, etc. Please review the list of the topics and activities at the bottom of this document. Note that topics are subject to change based on students’ computer literacy level.
GRADES & SCORING
Every course assignment will be graded. All files will be submitted to the instructor electronically.
QUIZZES, TESTS & EXAMS
There will be a few tests and quizzes throughout the semester. Tests will be pre-announced. All tests are worth a minimum of 100 points.
All quizzes, tests & exams will be worth total of 20% of the final grade.
PROJECTS
There will be one project per section as listed under "activities" on the syllabus. Most projects will be done individually. At the time the assignment is distributed, the size of the group for the project will be announced.
There are no planned papers for this course, although in some cases, for extra credit, the instructor may deem a paper appropriate. All projects will be worth 65% of the final grade.
PARTICIPATION & TARDINESS POLICY
Students are encouraged to actively participate during class. Participation will be graded between 0-100 points. This grade will be worth 15% of the final grade.
If a student arrives late to the class without any pass, they will be warned once. The second time a student arrives to class late they will be logged. Further tardiness will result in detention, parent phone call and/or conference with the principal.
