Classroom Philosophy

In Room 9, through modeling and action, the children will think with their heads as well as their hearts. My goal is to create a community of friends who happily learn and play together.

I believe that each child is a unique individual blessed with natural curiosity and a desire to discover. In our ten months together, the children and I will build a caring and stimulating atmosphere where risk taking, experimentation, and the sharing of ideas is a given. It is my personal mandate to ensure a kindergarten year that promotes social, emotional, and intellectual growth.

A teacher's role is to guide children through discovery. For students to construct knowledge and develop a passion for learning, opportunities to study meaningful, relevant, and globally interesting topics is paramount.

With families, teachers, children and our community working together, we are certain to enjoy an amazing year. Let the journey begin!
