Reading/Spelling/Vocabulary

Our reading program includes weekly stories and passages from McGraw Hill, Wonders. All stories and vocabulary can be accessed at the Authentication Portal through Clever, or students can bring home their reading books. Throughout the year we also take a break from Wonders and read some chapter books as a class. The titles are:

• Robin Hood

• Sarah Plain and Tall

• Yang the Youngest and His Terrible Ear

• Windcatcher

• Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing

Spelling Tests are weekly. New lists are given every Monday, along with homework which is due Wednesday. Tests will be on Fridays! Students will have their spelling lists glued in their planners and on homework sheets. Students are responsible for the spelling of these words.

Vocabulary includes words from the story that we are reading in our reading books. Students are responsible for definitions for these words and are tested on them with every story we read in McGraw Hill.
