Inherit the Wind
by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee
Inherit the Wind is a play and movie script that was written by Robert E. Lee and Jerome Lawrence based on real life events that changed the course of American educational history forever. This landmark case was one of many that protected our freedoms, human rights, and upheld our democracy as the questions raised in this case had much more to do with whether or not the protagonist broke the law or not; rather, it questioned the law and even inquired about human innovation and our own existence. Within this unit students will explore their own ideas and analyze history through critical analysis, self reflection, and group discussions. The power of persuasion and the idea of personal bias will also be explored.
