The student who will be attending a post-secondary school next August can fill out FAFSA. The student and one parent will fill out the 2022-23 FAFSA starting October 1st. If a student is graduating this December, he/she will fill out the 2020-21 FAFSA if they will be attending college this January 2021. The student needs to create an FSA ID and one parent needs to create their FSA ID a minimum of 3 days before completing the FAFSA.

This must be done a minimum of 3 days prior to filling out FAFSA
The student and one parent need an FSA ID
You will need a social security number to fill it out
Once you create it, you will receive and email stating that you have been verified. Then, it's okay to fill out the FAFSA application. Keep your FSA ID for all of the years you are in college.
