Absences/ PE Excuse Policy

PHYSICAL EDUCATION EXCUSES, ABSENCES, & MAKE-UP POLICY:

Please help support Sunrise Middle School's appreciation of ALL physical education activities and use good judgment when your child asks you to write them a P.E. excuse. If you feel an excuse is within reason, only write the excuse for one day at a time and evaluate your child's abilities the following day. Those students that cannot participate in P.E. need to bring the parent/doctor note to their teacher during class time.

** If your child needs to be excused for more than a three (3) day period, a doctor's note will be required as per Paradise Valley Governing Board policy. **

**** Either a written assignment or an aerobic activity makeup is to be done for each excused absence or excused participation in order to receive points for the day. The student is to pick up the 'makeup assignment sheet' on their own from the PE office, or download the 'make-up assignment sheet' from the "MakeUp Assignment" left tab within this website.

Remember, exercise can be uplifting to both mental and physical health. It can create more pride in appearance due to the physical changes experienced by your child. In addition to exercise being fun, it can prepare them for a lifetime of health and wellness. Healthy children learn better and become healthy productive adults.
