Recognise, understand, and use familiar words about ourselves and our whānau

For example: Ko Tama taku pāpā (Tama is my dad)

Ko Petra, Ko Renee aku tuahine (Petra and Renee are my sisters)

Wordlist

koro (grandpa), kuia (grandma), māmā (mother, mum), pāpā (father, dad), mātua (parents), tuakana (older sibling of same gender), teina (younger sibling of same gender), tungane (brother of a girl), tuahine (sister of a boy), whānau (family).

Ko (place holder for a name of someone or something)...eg. Ko Tama, Ko Rangitoto.

taku (my- singular/ one person), aku (my – plural/ 2 or more people).

Assessments for reports

These are the criteria you will be assessed on for your Beginning of Year Reports:

* Can recite the school karakia/prayer in english and Māori

* Can recite the kai karakia in Te Reo

1. You need to record YOURSELF saying the school karakia in both Māori and then in english and paste the link to the spreadsheet below.

2. You need to record YOURSELF saying the school karakia for kai and link it below also.
