Teacher introduction

My name is Daniel Lewis Niece. I am the Art teacher at E.B. Aycock. I earned my BFA in Sculpture from UNC-Greensboro and my Art K-12 Teacher Licensure from East Carolina University. I have been an Art teacher at the P.O.R.T. program located at the Greenville Detention Center and most recently at Rodgers/Edna Andrews in Martin County.

I am an art teacher because I have always loved art. When I was a child I drew pictures on the walls of my home. My mom did not like that, but since she was a former middle school art teacher she gave me an alternative. She gave me supplies: crayons, drawing paper, Play-doh, and Legos. She gave me a way to express myself.

I hope to give the students at E.B. Aycock Middle School a chance to learn some art technique, art history, and some 21st Century creative problem solving skills.
