ASTRONOMY FIELD TRIP TO: Shuttle Orbiter/ IMAX / California Science Center.
DATE: Fall trip TBD
DEPART FROM SBCC: 8 AM (the bus rolls at 8 AM, so get there 15 minutes BEFORE then so you can get loaded in time). Meet at the EBS loading dock, which is between the SBCC bookstore and the EBS building. You may lose your spot on the trip if you are not there 15 minutes before departure time. It is OK to park on Campus WITHOUT a permit on the Bookstore level ONLY.
RETURN TO SBCC: Around 5 PM (depending on traffic, etc).
COST: $40.00 to be paid at the SBCC Cashier. Make checks payable to SBCC or use your credit card. Pay in the Student Services Building.
HOW TO SIGN UP: Sign up with the SBCC cashier. Seats are given out on a “first come first served” basis as they are paid for. Let them know you are paying for the California Science Center Field Trip. Once the bus is full, that's it, so sign up now. Space is limited. Open to Astro Class students, SBCC Astronomy Club members, other SBCC students, and your friends/relatives (space permitting).
Timing of Sign-ups:
Signups are on a "first come" basis. Sign up now. Don't delay. The cashier will accept payment up to the Friday before the trip unless filled before then.
WHAT TO BRING: OK to bring food for lunch and/or money to buy lunch at the Ca Science Center. Also, be sure to bring a sweater or jacket for on the bus. Bus AC can be variable! OK to bring a backpack. The bus will not be available during the time we are at the Science Center. All food items will need to be stowed away in your backpack.
FIELD TRIP WAIVER FORM: All students will be required to turn in a waiver form. The waiver can be filled out on the bus. However, if you are under 18, you will need to get a parent or guardian's signature in advance (so print out in advance and get the required signatures beforehand). Download the waiver form below. Only the first two pages are needed.
REFUNDS:
There are no refunds for cancellations unless we are notified far enough in advance to be able to find someone to take your spot.
