Proper response: “Sir (or Ma’am), the (title) is the (current)”

Example: “Sir, the Secretary of the Navy is the Honorable Ray Mabus.”

President of the United States: The Honorable Mr. Donald J. Trump

Vice President of the United States: The honorable Mr. Mike R. Pence

Secretary of Defense: The Honorable DR. Mark Esper

Secretary of the Navy: The Honorable Mr. Richard V. Spencer
