RULES & POLICIESThe student is expected to follow the general rules of the school set forth in the student handbook and the classroom expectations. See student handbook for absence and tardiness discipline procedures.
Be on time - Students are considered tardy if they are not present in the locker room when the bell rings.
Be prepared – have your homework done and all the materials needed for class.
Participate - Class participation is MANDATORY. This includes dressing out as well as involvement in class activities.
Be active – ask questions, keep Mrs. Casimir informed, and do your work (and your work only!).
The teacher will dismiss the class – NOT the bell. You will be given ample time at the end of class to change.
Use the bathroom before class.
Any missed assignments due to sickness or a school related absence may be made up within 3 days. It is the student’s responsibility to retrieve missing assignments. Any work turned in late not due to absence will only be eligible for half credit (50%).
If you are absent on a day when choreography is taught, then it is the student’s responsibility to get with a friend to learn the missing part.
Repeatedly showing up for class without dress out clothes or without prepared materials will result in disciplinary action.
There is NO eating, drinking, or GUM in the dance studio. Gum in dance class is considered a safety hazard
Cell phones will NOT be tolerated.
REQUIRED MATERIALS
Each student is required to wear the dance uniform set forth by the county. See requirements here.

CLASS PARTICIPATION
Students are expected to fully participate in every aspect of the dance program. Students earn a daily grade based on a 10 point scale that encompasses: technical proficiency, musicality, spatial awareness, sequencing ability, and dynamic range. (see rubric below). Please come prepared for dance class with your clothes and materials, just as you would by bringing your math book to math! Students are encouraged to dress and perform every day. It is very important to be prepared, so please see me in advance if dressing out becomes an issue. Being prepared shows your commitment to growing as a dancer at Largo High School .
