YOUTUBE CHANNELS & VIDEOS:

  • PBS Math Club: Each of the videos contains a series of math lessons and challenge activities. To complete a challenge students click on the video to answer questions. If they answer correctly, they move on to the next question. If they answer incorrectly students are shown another video clip that explains the correct answer.

  • Mathtrain.TV: Free educational "kids teaching kids" project that hosts student-created math video lessons.

  • Mr. Robb’s Math Videos: This channel originally started out as a means for students to remember their lessons after class has been dismissed, but grew into an exceptionally comprehensive resource on almost all things mathematical.

  • Mathademics: Mathademics is a community learning tool based out of Northern Illinois. Mathcast video tutorials are created by certified teachers who are dedicated to improving and making learning accessible to all students.

  • The Video Math Tutor: This is a useful channel that provides several tutoring math videos covering different topics including basic math lessons, calculator tips, and brain teasers.

  • Numberphile: If you are a math teacher who wants to teach numbers differently, this channel has some videos to help you do it.

  • PatrickJMT Free Math Videos: With nearly 200,000 subscribers, this channel is considered to be one of the best math channels on YouTube. It has videos on different topics such as calculus, derivatives, differential equations, limits, integrals, and more.

  • Mathematics Online: For geometry formula derivations and more.

  • Statistics Learning Center: With clear, short, entertaining videos, learn the basics of statistics from an expert teacher.

  • Math Antics: Simple and engaging math resources that make learning math more fun for students of all ages.

MOBILE APPS:

  • 4 Dice: Fraction Games - A great iOS app for learning how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide fractions. This game meets Common Core Standards and has blue tooth capabilities to allow for two players across multiple devices.

  • 5 Dice: Order of Operations Game - A neat iOS app for practicing "order of operations" where the answer is giving and students need to figure out the equation. Some nice features include the email feature for teachers to track students ability as well as a nice interactive whiteboard to help figure out the problem.

  • Axiom - A fun iOS app where students tilt the mobile device to guide their ship to collection different numbers and operations to solve Math problems.

  • BuzzMath Middle School - iOS app for middle school students to learn and practice ath skills. When a student gets an answer wrong BuzzMath shows the correct answer and how to solve it. Also, supports "differentiated instruction" as well as a website w/ a teacher portal for managing and tracking students.

  • Marble Math - iOS app that has students playing the old fashioned marble tilt puzzle game solving basic math problems (addition, subtraction, etc.) plus decimals and fractions. A user can either tilt their iOS device to move the marble or use their finger to guide their marble to the desired spot. Not only is this game highly addictive it gets rather challenging in the upper levels.

  • Math Champ - Innovative iOS app that turns a student's iPad into a "buzzer" to answer questions before their classmate. This does require a teacher to "host" the game as well as setup a class list. Math Chimp supplies all the Common Core Standard questions from a wide variety of Math problems.

  • Math Dojo - iOS app for addition in the style of a fighting game. The paid version unlocks all the different operations/levels.

  • Math Minute Madness - iOS app that focuses on basic math skills and has students trying to solve as many questions in a minute to earn stars so they can add animals to their virtual zoo

  • Ordered Fractions - iOS game that uses dice to roll random numbers and then have students put them in boxes to create fractions. Students then have to compare these fractions to put into ascending order

  • Sushi Monster - iOS app for practicing addition and multiplication facts
