Parent Information

Arrival- students may arrive to school between 8:45-9:00 am. Students are marked tardy if they arrive past 9:00 am. Beginning in the Fall, students will participate in "Brain Train" 8:45- 9:00 in the gym, so it's best for students to arrive approximately 8:45 am to ensure they have time to participate. Students may not arrive prior to 8:45 am.

Parents are not permitted to walk into building when dropping off. There will be an adult outside of the building to greet your child. You must always go through the office when entering the building. This is for the safety of students and staff.

Lunch- students may buy or pack their lunch. Lunch menus change monthly, and can be printed from the Pennsbury web page. Students will choose their lunch each morning upon entering the classroom.

Lunch will not be served on half days.

Labels- Please label everything you send in with your child.

Dismissal- PLEASE NOTIFY THE OFFICE IN WRITING IF YOU ARE MAKING ANY CHANGES IN THE WAY YOUR CHILD GOES HOME. Please send in a note the morning of so the office and myself are aware of the change. Using the orange note pad which is given at the beginning of the year is most helpful. If you need a last minute change- please call the office and the secretary will notify me. Please do not use my voice mail or email to notify me-if the internet is down or I'm not in, your message will not be received. You must call the office. Changes include but are not limited to:

· Your child is being picked up by a new/different adult. That adult must bring picture ID.

· Your child is normally a busser, but is a walker for the day-include the pick-up person's name, and they must show picture ID.

· Your child is not going to Kid’s Care.

· Your child is a walker, and is going to a friend’s house on the bus-I will need a note from both parents for this situation.

Bus Stops: someone must be at the bus stop to meet your child. If no one is there, the bus will return your child to school and you will be contacted.

I will not release a child differently from their normal routine or to a different adult unless I have parent/guardian permission in writing or you have called the office. The adult must present picture ID.

Toys- Students may bring toys from home for recess only. Please use discretion when allowing your child to bring in toys from home. If there is an issue with this policy,a loss of privilege will occur. Electronics are not permitted, and it is your child's responsibility to keep track of his/her toy.

Homework Folders: An Orange HW Folder will be provided by PTO. This folder will be used as a daily form of communication. Homework folder pockets are labeled "Return to School" and "Keep at Home." All papers on the "Return to School" side should be returned to school the following day -homework, forms etc. All homework will be marked with an H or stamp stating homework.

All of the papers on the "Keep at Home" side should be taken out of the folder nightly- completed class work, checked homework etc.

Snack Policy: A snack should be sent in with your child daily. Some ideas of a healthy snack include: fruit, veggies, yogurt, granola bars and pretzels. You may also send in a labeled water bottle, please do not send in any sweet drinks, as it may cause a mess if spilled. Please note that I do not have spoons, forks or knives in the classroom, so I am unable to peel or cut fruit/veggies. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Birthdays:To celebrate a birthday in our classroom, students may NOT bring in a birthday treats that are food-school board policy.

Some popular birthday treats include: pencils / stickers / erasers.

Please do not send in birthday invitations to be handed out in school unless you have one for each student in our class. You may use the social list given out in September to send invites outside of school. This prevents hurt feelings.
