My Master's degree is in Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State University and 27 of my +30 post Master's credits are in reading and writing instruction. In 2006, I became a Fellow of the Pennsylvania Writing and Literature Project’s (PAWLP) Writing Institute followed by the Reading and Literature Institute in 2007.
I joined the Pennsylvania Institute for Instructional Coaching (PIIC) in 2011 and attended monthly mentor meetings in Bucks County while working as a coach. During the 2013-14 school year, I attended PIIC's Professional Learning Opportunity conference series in State College. I was also a participant in the 2014 Penn Learning Network (PLN) course, a partnership between PIIC and the University of Pennsylvania.
My professional development includes PAWLP days, workshops at the Bucks County Intermediate Unit, and local conferences. In addition, I have presented for PAWLP graduate courses and literacy conferences, instructed a PAWLP graduate course, presented at 21st Century Learning Night, and designed and delivered more than a dozen original workshops, in-services, and book studies for the Pennridge School District.
Mr. Kratz and I enjoy our miniature dachshund, Marçel, and share our outdoor goldfish pond with frogs, dragonflies, and sometimes snakes. We love exploring nature's wonders - including kayaking, hiking, biking, and fishing. We love traveling and experiencing new places. We love trying all kinds of foods. And of course, we are always looking for ways to continue learning.
