The objective of this class is to help students learn how to live a healthy life through diet and exercise.
Most of the exercise will be through cardio.
4 times a week, we will walk, run and complete circuits (M,T,W,Th)
2 times a week, we will do abs (T and Th)
1 day a week, we will cover nutrition.
Exercise
We will complete daily workouts. Each day we will combine olympic lifts along with toning and defining exercises. We will incorporate ab workouts and plyometrics to develop muscle tone and increase muscle composition.
Weekly Schedule
Every day we will warm up, stretch through dynamic skips and develop agility through daily agility drills. Daily, we will complete 5 to 7 weight room lifts. Students will work all muscle weekly by working a combination of muscle groups each day.
Class Expectations
You will need to dress out everyday. Dressing out entails running shoes (not vans or converse), workout shorts or pants, T-shirt and a sports bra for girls. You need to bring a water bottle with you everyday and fill it up during your dress out time. You need to eat breakfast everyday. If you’re not eating breakfast, you are creating a danger to you and to me.
You are expected to be on time no matter where you are coming from. Even if you’re coming from an off campus site. You need to be here before the bell rings.
You are not to leave the gym or track for any reason without permission. This is considered skipping.
Grading
You are expected to participate everyday. If you are sick you need a parent note with a phone number so that I can call to confirm or a Dr’s note. If you are injured, you will still workout. I will give you a modified workout that you can perform without using the injured area. Everyday you will receive a daily task grade for your warm up and lifts. You will also receive a daily grade for dressing out. Classwork grades will be given for any materials that are to be completed in class. Test grades will be given for squat and bench max outs.
Materials
70 page notebook. Lace-up shoes, workout clothes. PCS-issued Chromebook and Charger (Bring this fully charged every day.)
