What is AP Academy? It is an opportunity for your student to excel in an environment geared towards Advanced Placement classes to help with student success in college.
Students enrolled in the academy will complete a minimum of 3 Advanced Placement courses during their high school career in addition to a minimum of six honors courses. The Academy's program is aligned with the College Board's partnership with high schools. The program will provide students with instruction in pre-college and college level courses, taught by College Board trained instructors. AP courses challenge students on content knowledge, analytical skills, and study habits. Our goal within the AP Academy is to not only provide students with the opportunity to take advanced classes, but to also introduce them to experiences that will further help them in their future successes after graduation.
Students interested in applying to the academy need to complete the application linked below and turn it in to the main office. All eligible students can apply through October 15, 2021 The first meeting will take place in the end of October. Please take time to go through the brochure that is also linked below for a main overview of the academy. If you have any questions about the AP Academy, please contact Karen McGowen.
