Radiology Scheduling Rules –
RULE OF THUMB- ONE ORGAN, ONE MODALITY, ONE DAY, PER PATIENT
1- Split all procedures up- including ct abdomen and pelvic exams , ultrasound abdomen and pelvic exams
2- Only One ultrasound per day per patient ( do not schedule more than one ultrasound on a day for a patient )
3- All heart studies need to be scheduled on separate days that includes holters, nuc med stress test , echo and regular stress test
4- Multiple exams of different organs and parts can be done if using separate modalities
Ex. X-ray of shoulder, nuc med test, ultrasound of the carotids, ct of the foot
5- Nurses will dictate what procedures are placed onto the schedule – schedulers do not ask questions inarticulacy in front of patients
6- Front desk make mark cancel at the end of the day on all schedules- and if a patient leaves and has a paid a co-pay – please address right then and there with a manager
7- If Dr. Saxena and Dr. Vinita inform a patient that we will get all procedures done in one day then schedule however he or she sees fit
8- Most commonly hearts need to be schedules apart, nucs please learn length of procedure we will go thru all modalities
