GETTING STARTED

PSU ID Card

Get your PSU ID from ID Card Services, located in the Fariborz Maseeh Hall lobby, near the parkside entrance. Once Human Resources has authorized the issuance of your ID, bring your valid government-issued photo identification to ID Services to obtain a PSU Faculty/Staff Key Card. Your first card is issued free of charge.

An expiration date sticker will be attached to the ID Authorization Form provided by HR for obtaining your first card. Cards without a sticker or with stickers that have expired are revoked of all privileges. If your sticker is nearing expiration, see Ellen Wack in the A+D office for a new sticker.

You will need this card to:

  • Enter most campus buildings

  • Use the PSU Library

  • Access to campus restrooms with a card swipe

  • Ride the Portland Streetcar for FREE

ODIN Account

All Portland State University students, faculty, and staff receive computer accounts known as Odin accounts. Your Odin account will allow you to access your PSU email as well as classroom and university computer systems such as Banweb, Google Workspace, Canvas, WiFi, computer labs, online resources through the PSU library, and more. It is also tied to important business operations such as ordering keys.

Setting up your Odin account is a two-step process, you must create your password and activate it.

You are required to use your PSU email account for university business. This email address will be the one we give to students who request a way to contact you. It will also be the address through which you will get official communications from the school and university.

For more information about this account, how to create your account, and how to reset your password, visit the Office of Information Technology's webpage for Odin Accounts or stop by the OIT Helpdesk in the lobby of Fariborz Maseeh Hall.

Accessing Your Email

The easiest way to find your email account is from the PSU Employees webpage. There are lots of useful links on this page including these important tools:

  • Banweb: Manage your class rosters, submit grades, view your pay stubs, access tax forms, and other employment information.

  • Canvas: PSU's online learning management system.

  • PSU Google Workspace: Access to email, calendar, Google Drive, etc.

If you don't create a new password in time you will be locked out of your account. If you do get locked out, don't worry. Just contact the OIT Helpdesk at 503-725-HELP or help@pdx.edu and they'll get your account reset.
