PROGRAMME DESCRIPTION
The Associate Degree in Engineering programme is offered over four (4) fifteen weeks Semesters on a full-time basis.
It aims to provide students with high quality education in the theory and practices in Engineering. The programme is designed to ensure that the graduate develops strong problem solving and analytical skills.
The programme is structured in such a way that the first year consists primarily of general education courses, support courses and engineering core courses. The content of the support courses, namely mathematics and physics provide the necessary content for the engineering programme similar to that which is provided by the GCE A' level or CAPE subjects.
The second year consists primarily of engineering foundation courses and support courses. During the second year students will be required to do two electives: a humanistic elective and a specialization elective. All students will be expected to complete a period of industry experience before graduation. Graduates of this programme will have the academic and social tools, which will allow them to integrate into industry and other institutions of higher learning.
REQUIREMENTS OF STUDENTS
Students are required to:
attend classes at the prescribed dates and times
exercise intellectual honesty
acquire the prescribed textbook(s)/resource materials
purchase the required safety equipment needed for labs and workshops

DISCONTINUATION
A student who having sat all examinations fails 80% or more of the courses which comprise his 'programme-year'

provided that his re-admission takes place within the maximum period allowable for completion of a programme, the student
shall benefit from credits previously gained.
MAXIMUM ALLOWABLE PERIOD FOR COMPLETION
The maximum time span for completion of a programme shall be taken to be the normal duration of that programme plus three (3) addition years.
