Come Sing with Me, O - David C Dahlquist

Soul Song

My heart beats the rhythm for the song of my soul,

The melody that orchestrates my life,

A simple song of joy, my aubade at dawning's light,

My benedictory verse at shade of night.

My soul song lends me courage in the threatening face of fear

And warms with peace when sorrow chills my heart,

My humble hymn of thanks and praise for blessings God imparts,

For blessings He abundantly imparts

Oh, come, sing with me;

Let us make our voices blend

In one sweet chorus to our God and King.

How wondrous the joy when everyone joins in,

And all the world in harmony will sing!

Let the gladness of our music lift the melancholy heart;

Let our strains encourage hope where there's despair.

Let us celebrate all love and beauty, charity and cheer

That all will be uplifted who may hear.

We sing of all we treasure, our country, kin, and homes,

All goodness that inspires us to attain;

We sing of Him whose bounteous gifts are everywhere made plain,

Who whispers love throughout our soul's refrain.

Oh, come, sing with me;

Let us make our voices blend

In one sweet chorus to our God and King.

How wondrous the joy when everyone joins in,

And all the world in harmony will sing!

Oh, come, sing with us;

Help us make our songs be heard

In one great chorus to our God and King.

How wondrous the joy when everyone joins in,

And all the world in harmony will sing!

How wondrous the joy when every voice joins in,

And all the world in harmony will sing!
