Khan Academy
What is Khan Academy?
Khan Academy is an online learning resource available to students, parents, and teachers. Parents and teachers may sign up as "coaches" for their child. Khan academy offers video tutorials and practice on a variety of math concepts.
Click the link below for step by step instructions for logging into Khan academy through the student gateway.
Competitions
There are several opportunities to compete in mathematics events during the year. Information will be posted on Schoology. Contact Sarah Pierce (spierce@pausd.org) if you have questions.
Online Practice
Khan academy is another good place for extensions. The practice sets are leveled, so students can work towards a mastery level of completion, not just a proficient level.
Problems of the Week
There are several resources online for problem solving. One free resource is the Mathcounts site. Here students can find a variety of problems of the week.
Teacher Recommendations
Encourage your student to ask their teacher for extensions if they are finishing all of their work accurately, precisely, and with fully developed documentation of their mathematical thinking.
