Merit Badge Colleges

Below is a list of potential merit badge colleges for scouts that are interested.  You will need to search for these for additional information, but this list is intended to help provide direction on where to look.

Troop 18 Merit Badge Conference, (early August)

•    Tecumseh KS, in "Shawnee Heights High School"

•    Registration opens Mid-June 

Bass Pro/Cabelas Boy Scout Month (all of Sept)

•    Scouts can take: rifle shooting, fishing, fish & wildlife mgmt.

•    Sign up is first come, typically starting in early to mid August.

Lewis and Clark  Merit Badge College, Atchison KS (mid to late November)

•     Registration has typically been through "Meritbadge.info"

•     The registration window usually opens in Mid October.

•     A scout can take up to 2 badges.

Winter Sea Camp, Naish, (late November)

• This last year was it's first year. It was on black Friday.

•  Registration was in early Nov.

•  A scout can get about 5 badges done (he does not choose them).

•  This is a one night overnight event, sleeping in staff cabins

Smithville Rotary Club Merit Badge College (early Feb)

• Registration is done by email (Jul through Oct).

• A boy lists 4 class options, then waits till Dec to learn which 2 he gets.

• Via PayPal, before the 2 courses are assigned, you are required to prepay.

Benedictine College Merit Badge Academy, Atchison (mid Feb)

• Registration began in mid/late November

• Scouts can take up to 2 badges
