The VEX Robotics program at Julian is a collaboration with D97 and the Oak Park Education Foundation. For the 2024-25 school year we will be offering the following programs:
FALL HOUSE LEAGUE:
This program is designed to give students an opportunity to "try out" robotics and see if it is for them. Students will work with a kit of materials in small groups and build mechanisms and coding techniques to play the game "High Stakes."
Both new and experienced students can participate.
Fall House League Runs from Sept 7-Oct 12th
Meeting will be on Monday and Thursday from 3:30-5pm
COMPETITIVE ROBOTICS TEAM:
Starting in mid October, students will build robotics to compete against other schools in the Chicagoland VEX League. This is an intensive program for students who want to push things to the next level. Participation will be selective. All interested students need to see Mr. Walsh for an application.
Meetings will be on Mondays & Thursdays from 3:30-5pm, plus 4 Saturday Competitions and extra meetings as needed. (See calendar for exact dates)
The competitive season runs from Oct 17 till March 1
Fee: $60 to cover consumable supplies & t-shirt.

SPRING HOUSE LEAGUE
If the fall schedule does not work for you, we will be running the House League program again right after spring break. The meeting days and times will be posted in March.
Students who are interested in being on the competitive team for 2023-24 next year should use this program to gain experience.
