Buses/ Cars/ Traffic
- Please send in a note informing me of any changes in transportation. I will hang the note by the door.
- Mornings, drop off by 8:00 and afternoons, pick up by 3:00 (follow traffic patterns).
Star of the Week
- The new Star of the Week will be announced to the class on Fridays for the next week. A letter with details for the week will be sent home with your child.
Take-Home Folder
- Take-Home Folder is for correspondence between home and the classroom. It will go home with your child each day.
Show & Tell
- Children will bring home a reminder note when it is their turn.
- Please send the item in a bag with three written clues attached.
Snacks/Water Bottles
- Children need to bring their morning snack each day. It should be something easy to take outside to eat at recess time. Also, each child should bring a spill-proof refillable water bottle to school each day.

- A monthly classroom newsletter will be sent home at the end of each month. It will highlight curriculum topics that were taught.
Scholastic Book Orders
- These are optional each month.
- After setting up an account, orders may be placed online.
School Closing
Parents will be notified of emergency closings via the FACTS system.
Homework
- Homework will not be assigned every night. Typically, homework will be sent home on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- It is meant to reinforce a skill learned in school or an important life skill.
- Please spend a little time reading to your child.
- Ask about their day.
- Practice sight words. They will be sent home every few weeks.
Sight Words
- Please cut apart word card sheets as you get them.
- Store the cards in a safe place at home.
- Practice these word cards often with your child.
* Please place your child’s name on everything that your child brings to school. This includes sweatshirts, lunch boxes, school bags, jackets, hats, mittens, boots, and anything else you can think of to label! Thanks so much for your help.
