November 6th- A reminder that the Book Drive organized by 7th graders Alyssa Donadeo and Sienna Meloni will have drop off tomorrow the 7th and Friday the 8th at 3:00 pm in the OLGC parking lot. Flyers were sent home last week.
October 15- We concluded our study of the US Constitution last week. We will not see as much of each other this week due to STAR Testing. The Discussion posts have been top quality so far. These short assignments are fast-tracking critical thinking and research skills. All will benefit from this when we get to the Final Project Milestones in a few months. This week we return to our Weekly "SCOTUS Day" with Plessy v Ferguson.
Next week we will continue going through the Amendments to the US Constitution. We will read through and briefly discuss them, as we did on Friday with the first 10, aka, "The Bill of Rights".
Students will be coming home with a copy of the syllabus to be signed and returned on Monday. Please take note of grading distribution and policy on late work.
Week of September 4, 2024
8th Grade's first assignment of the year is a short written post that we will discuss as a class: The discussion post is about why Social Studies is studied in school and, as a refresher, what individual subjects make Social Studies.
