Basic Information

Deadlines – Health forms must be returned to school no later than Monday, April 29, 2024. No student will be allowed to attend without these forms on file. Payment of $253.00 must be returned no later than Friday, April 19, 2024.

Departure – Luggage should be brought to school prior to Wednesday morning. All luggage is going to the same place, so you may choose the drop off time/location that works best for you. Luggage may not be brought on the bus. Students will ride their regular bus to school Wednesday morning. This will help avoid traffic problems with buses. Fifth graders will board the buses at 9:00. (This procedure is subject to change depending on our safety precautions.)

• You may bring it to Discovery Elementary on Monday, May 6, 5:00-6:00 PM

• You may bring it to Orchard Farm Elementary on Tuesday, May 7 before school by getting in the left lane of the A drop off line.

• You may bring it to Orchard Farm Elementary on Tuesday, May 7, 5:00 - 6:00 PM. 

Return – We will return on Friday, May 10 by 1:00 PM. You will need to make arrangements to pick up your child at that time. If someone other than a parent will pick up your child, please write a note and turn it in at the office Monday, May 6. 

• Orchard Farm Elementary - Students will be at the Orchard Farm Junior High, formerly the High School, by 1:00 PM.  Enter through the Performance Center doors. You’ll be directed where to go when you enter the building.

• Discovery Elementary - Students will be at the Discovery Gym by 1:00 PM.  Park at the east end of the building on the playground, and enter at the gym. You’ll be directed where to go when you enter the building.

Medication – All medication needed during the week at camp will be kept and administered by the nurse. All medication should be turned in to the school nurse by Monday, April 29, along with a completed medication form. Medication should be in the original prescription container, and must be turned in on or before the deadline so that our nurses can get all of her supplies organized before we leave for camp. 

Mailing Address – Please mail items April 29 - May 1 so they will arrive while we are at camp. Letters must be flat or the camp is charged an additional fee by the post office, which will be passed along to you.

Camp Emergency – A nurse is on staff at all times. In case of an emergency, parents will be notified immediately. In the event there is severe weather, or another emergency that affects all students, we will use our district notification service to contact all parents when we are given the all clear. Please make sure that the office has a current emergency contact number on file.

Emergency Contact –School personnel may be reached at anytime in case of an emergency. During school hours you may call the elementary office: Discovery Elementary 636-757-6802, and Orchard Farm Elementary 636-757-8701. After school hours, in an emergency only, you may call the Activity Center Front Desk at 217-854-4824.

Insurance – Group insurance coverage is purchased from Lake Williamson by our school district. We suggest that you make sure you have your own personal insurance coverage before your child participates in the program. The limited accident coverage carried for the program may not be sufficient to cover a major accident, and does not cover recurring illness, such as asthma, bronchitis, etc.

Behavior – Students must demonstrate good citizenship. We will counsel students regarding inappropriate behaviors, and remove students from activities if behaviors continue. In the event a child continually behaves inappropriately, parents will be contacted and asked to pick up their child.
