Welcome to 11U Physics!
Here you will find notes, assignments, handouts, and links to relevant material in Mr. Flynn's AWESOME grade 11 physics class (AKA your favourite class and teacher!). Please feel free to browse. Visitors are welcome to use the information posted here for their own programs. Enjoy.
The textbook for this course is Nelson Physics 11. You can find the solutions to the book posted periodically in the files included on this site with each unit.
Cellphones
As of 2017 there is a ban in place on cell phones in the physics class. If you elect to bring it to class you can store it in the bin at the front. If you prefer you can store it safely somewhere outside the classroom. If you elect to keep in on your person and you take it out during class it will be confiscated and you may be required to collect it in the main office.
Keep in mind that the science is very clear: Cell phones in the classroom are a major distraction and negatively affect your performance in class.
Advanced Placement
Some of you have been with me in the 9 and 10 pre-AP program. You will have seen some aspects of this course already. For the record ANYONE is eligible to take the AP physics exam if they choose in grade 12. If you are registering in an engineering or physics discipline it is NOT recommended for you to use AP to replace a first year physics course.
For some of you registering in other science programs with more focus on chemistry and biology but with a requirement of a first year physics course, the AP exam is an excellent opportunity for you to earn a physics credit and save the time and money required for the first year course.
Preparing for the exam (again which is optional) will involve some work outside of class *in grade 12*.
