During the 2019-2020 school year, Mrs. Passetti's Painting & Drawing and Portfolio Prep students participated in The Memory Project for our 9th year. This year we created 28 portraits of children from Nigeria. Mrs. Passetti painted a portrait along with her classes, and Mrs. Pristash, our school librarian, also painted a portrait for the project.
The Memory Project invites young artists around the world to create portraits as special gifts for children facing challenges. The project is meant to encourage positive memories and help foster a global sense of kindness and peace. Our students have previously created portraits for children in Sierra Leone, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand, Ethiopia, Bolivia, a Syrian refugee camp, and the Philippines. We were so happy to be able to participate in this project again! You can read more about The Memory Project at http://www.memoryproject.org.
