John McCrae Concert Band

The John McCrae S.S. music program currently has two concert bands. The Senior Concert Band is made up of students in grades 11 and 12, while the Junior Concert Band is made up of students in grades 9 and 10.

Music students are eligible to receive an AMR credit for each year they participate in the ensemble. In grades 11 and 12, the credits can be used toward university / college acceptance.

The Concert Band typically performs three school concerts each year (one in December, one in February, and one in May). The bands also performs anually at the Capital Region Musicfest where they earned several gold standards over the past few years.
