A quick guide to processing your data which you have collected during a fair test investigation.
Firstly, you will need to set out your raw data in a table. The best way to do this is in Google Sheets (or Microsoft Excel), which can then easily be copied and pasted into your report.
You will most likely want to draw a scatter graph of your dependent variable against the average of the dependent variable. Here is a quick video to show you how to do this in Google Sheets. You can then copy and paste this graph into your report so you can draw conclusions and discuss them. Any questions or comments, please email me.
NOTE: a scatter graph is only appropriate when both of your variables are numbers. If your independent variable is categorical (like type of sediment), then you will need to draw a bar chart instead (not line of best fit is possible).
