Guidance Lessons
Classroom lessons for kindergarten through second grade are held one times each month and will cover topics such as getting along with friends, the difference between tattling and telling, anger management, taking turns, and being responsible.
Classroom lessons for third through fifth grade are on going throughout the year covering Northvale Star character traits which include, Respect, Integrity, Perseverance, Leadership, Compassion, Responsibility, Honesty, and Teamwork.
Sixth Grade - Transition to Middle School Class - The purpose of this class is to have discussions on related topics that include transitions to middle school and adolescence. Some topics include dealing with peer pressure, popularity, conflict resolution, getting help when you need it, Digital Responsibility, Cyber Bullying, dealing with bullies and friendships.
Eighth Grade - Classes taught throughout the year to help students transition to the High School. Students select elective courses for high school and begin to make decisions regarding high school activities they may be interested in.
