be in attendance at the school the equivalent of one semester;
be in seventh grade;
have earned honors or better each marking period in Grades 6 and 7 and have earned High Honors for at least 3 marking periods during their time at NBIS; with the possibility to have missed honor roll one term, but still maintaining an average of 85.
have consistently exhibited behavior positive in line with the Davis Way and P.R.I.D.E. while at NBIS. The faculty council of the NJHS recognizes that disciplinary mistakes can be made and therefore, students with a past behavior record should apply if they meet the other qualifications. Students with behavioral concerns may be asked to meet with the faculty council to elaborate on how they have corrected their behavior and have grown as individuals.
have demonstrated excellence in service, leadership, citizenship, and character during their tenure at NBIS. The faculty council of the NJHS recommends that students consider all the ways they have been a leader during grades 6 and 7 (in classroom settings, on teams, and within the communities) when applying.

have consistently exhibited behavior positive in line with the Davis Way and P.R.I.D.E. while at NBIS. The faculty council of the NJHS recognizes that disciplinary mistakes can be made and therefore, students with a past behavior record should apply if they meet the other qualifications. Students with behavioral concerns may be asked to meet with the faculty council to elaborate on how they have corrected their behavior and have grown as individuals.
have demonstrated in sixth, seventh, and eighth grades excellence in service, leadership, citizenship, and character both in their school and greater community.
agree to maintain a average of 90% or higher for the remainder of their tenure at NBIS;
must not receive any referrals nor suspensions for the remainder of their tenure at NBIS;
must continue to demonstrate excellence in service, leadership and character for the rest of their tenure at NBIS;
regularly participate in chapter service projects during their grade eight school year at NBIS , and choose, have approved, and participate in a significant service project during eighth grade that reflects his/her particular talents and interests (This is in addition to the chapter service projects to which all members contribute).
