The Alan C. Davis Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society
The National Junior Honor Society is a national society open to students in the middle grades. In 2018, NBIS started The Alan C. Davis Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society.
Alan C. Davis
During a career which spanned forty-three years, Alan C. Davis influenced countless people. As a teacher, advisor, department chair and administrator, Mr. Davis passionately and humbly served the students, staff and parents of the North Branford Public Schools. A true Hawk to the core, Mr. Davis was both a student and teacher at NBIS and served as our Principal for fifteen years until the time of his retirement in 2017. Mr. Davis’s impact is immeasurable and the NBIS community will forever be indebted to his service. In following the example Mr. Davis set for everyone, NBIS is committed to living The Davis Way.
THE DAVIS WAY
A philosophy that embodies integrity, humility and the symbolic meaning of the hawk itself: wisdom, focusing on the task at hand and using the power of observation. The Davis Way embraces these attributes as well as the belief that school is a place for learning, growing, laughing, belonging and generosity of heart.
