Uc Application

CSU Application

  • Open: October 1st

  • Close: November 30th (December 4th for this year's applicants)

  • no essay prompts

  • no letters of recommendation

  • If you apply for EOP, you need to answer questions (short answer) and 2 recommendations

Private schools

  • Deadlines vary by school (research each school to find deadlines and requirement)

  • Many use COMMON APP to apply

  • Will need letters of recommendation: 1 from your counselor, the other could be from a teacher, coach, mentor, etc.

Community college

  • Most community collges open February/March

  • Chabot College opens October 1st

Financial Aid

FAFSA

  • For US citizen or Resident

  • First step is to create Federal Student Aid ID here- fsaid.ed.gov/npas/index.htm

  • Once it is verified it can be used as your virtual signature

  • October 1st: start applying

  • Your parent will have to create a FSA ID if they are a US citizen or Resident

  • It takes 24-72 hours to process your FSA ID

CA DREAM ACT

  • If you are an undocumented student in CA, you will fill out the CA dream act here instead of FAFSA: dream.csac.ca.gov/

The Educational Opportunity Program, or EOP, is a counseling and academic support program designed to help low-income and first generation college students succeed in college

EOPs are available at California State University and University of California campuses.

What's important to you in a job? Discover how much you value achievement, independence, recognition, relationships, support, and working conditions in a job. Get a list of jobs that reflect your values.

2. Go to "Explore" and down to "Work Importance Profiler"

3. Select “Start a New Work Importance Profiler”

4. Read the instructions and begin

5. Once you complete the statements click next

6. Answer “yes” or “no” for each statement and click “View Summary”
