Imaginative Homes

I miss you all and would love to see your work! If you have any questions or want to send pictures of what you're creating, you can email me: mallory.neidenthal@nhcs.net

There are all different types of homes, even some fun imaginative ones, featured in Carson Ellis' book "Home." We are spending a lot of time at home ourselves these days. What kind of creative, imaginative home can you come up with? This week I show you FOUR different ways you can design your own home! Depending on what materials you have and if you'd prefer to make a 3D house or simply a 2D artwork, watch the videos below and see what you can create!

Words to review and know:

THREE DIMENSIONAL (3D) - an object that has length, width, AND height, and as a result is NOT flat

TWO DIMENSIONAL (2D) - something that is flat and can only be measured in length and width

PRINTMAKING/STAMPING - a form of artmaking that is done using stamps

COLLAGE - a form of artmaking that is made by combining a lot of smaller elements or pieces into one large picture or work

Creating your Imaginative Home

In this video I will demonstrate four different ways you can create an imaginative home. You can make a 3D imaginative house and build it out of Legos (found at 00:50 in the video), or build a home using recycled materials (at 1:30 minutes). You can also create a 2D version by doing some Lego stamping (found at 5:30 minutes) or using collage to create a block home (at 11:55 in the video). SO many options, so try one or try them all! Have fun and get creative!
