I am a native of the North Carolina foothills. I grew up loving music - playing flute, piano, and of course, singing. I attended The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (Go Spartans!), where I received a Bachelors of Music Education with a concentration in Voice, and a minor in Piano and Jazz Studies. I taught Chorus in the Triad area of North Carolina for ten years, while also serving on the NCMEA Middle School Choral Directors Executive Board, before relocating to South Carolina for two years. While in Greensboro, I was a member of Bel Canto Company, a professional choral group, under the direction of Dr. Welborn Young. My husband and I moved to Wilmington in August 2018, and we are so excited to be living at the beach! During the summer, I have served as the Junior Mixed Chorus Conductor for UNCG Summer Music Camp. I'm humbled and honored to have been selected as the MGMS 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year. In my free time I enjoy traveling the world with my family, friends, and pets, as well as kayaking, spending time on the beach, scary movies, crafting, and singing!
