Our Class Community:
Supporting a positive classroom community is very important to me. In addition to our school-wide Codington CARES principles, our class is formatted around a Star Wars theme that includes rules and rewards. Students earn star bucks each day for behaviors that are cooperative, prosocial, helpful, and engaged; these dollars are exchanged for activity rewards or privileges in class.
Our class also promotes a positive community through the integration of the principles of Howard Gardner’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences and the Harmony character education program. These principles are directly taught to children and reinforced daily.
