Class Expectations
Follow all staff directions

Tardy Policy
· First Tardy will be a Warning
· Second Tardy I will call Parent or Guardian
· Third Tardy you will get a Referral
Attendance
· If you absent you will have to make up the participation grade
Hall/Bathroom Pass
· Only one student will be allowed out of the room at a time
· No one is allowed out of class the first or last fifteen minutes of class
Excepted for Emergencies
Course Objectives
1. Students will demonstrate responsible personal and social behavior in physical activity Settings.
a. Work productively as a member of a team and contribute to the team’s success through a variety of noncompetitive duties.
b. Developed basic skills, knowledge, and social responsibility in a variety of
team sports.
c. Practice acceptable sportsmanship and fair play behaviors during all activities.
d. Apply cooperative social skills to all competitive and noncompetitive activities.
2. Student will demonstrate a competent level of physical activity, sport, and fitness
literacy.
a. Exhibit basic knowledge of a variety of team sports in the areas of rules, skills, officiating and scoring.
b. Demonstrate basic individual and team strategies in team play.
3. Student will work to achieve and maintain an acceptable level of cardiovascular
fitness through a variety of aerobic activities.
a. Participation in fitness testing activities.
b. Demonstrate improvement in cardiovascular fitness levels by participating in weekly walk/run activities.

Cardiovascular Fitness Standards
It is the goal of the Laney Physical Education Department to increase the cardiovascular fitness of all students in all classes which are offered by the department.
On a daily basis, each student will be required to participate in a combination of activities that will enhance cardiovascular fitness.
The grading standards for the walk/run program and mile run are listed below.
