AIG Information
K-2 Nurturing
The New Hanover County Schools' AIG Program provides opportunities for higher
order thinking in grades K-2 through the Nurturing Program. Each week the
Gifted Education Specialist may teach whole-class lessons to all students in
Kindergarten, First, and Second Grades or pull small groups. The specialist
utilizes Primary Education Thinking Skills, Problem Solver, Planned Experiences
and the NC standards to create lessons that work on Multiple Intelligence's,
Convergent and Divergent Thinking, Spatial Reasoning, Evaluative Thinking,
Creativity, and Inventive Thinking.
