Immunizations may be obtained at the Vernon County Health Department Monday through Friday. Calling for an appointment is advised (667-7418). You may also check with your students doctor or nurse practitioner to obtain immunizations.
MEDICAL IMMUNIZATION EXEMPTIONS
Some students cannot be immunized for medical reasons. Claiming a medical exemption represents a physician’s determination that your student is allergic to some immunization components, has an immune deficiency or has an illness such as cancer. RELIGIOUS IMMUNIZATION EXEMPTIONS
Actively choosing not to immunize your student by claiming a religious exemption is a parent’s right; however, it carries significant responsibility. To protect inadequately vaccinated individuals and the entire community, unimmunized students could be excluded from school during disease outbreaks. IMMUNIZATIONS IN PROGRESS
Students are allowed to attend school if the required immunization series has begun and an appointment for the next dose is scheduled. This immunization appointment must be documented on an Immunizations In Progress form and filed with your students school. If the appointment is not kept then the student becomes non-compliant and will be excluded from school. Click the following link to obtain an in progress form.
