Back to School Reminders from the Nevada R-5 Health Services Program
* Immunizations must be up-to-date before your student's first day of school. Contact the Vernon County Health Department, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., or your student's doctor/nurse practitioner for information on obtaining vaccinations.
* According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, children and adolescents should have a complete examination every two years. Talk to your student's doctor or nurse practitioner about a physical exam.
* Please contact your school nurse if your student has a special health condition or if you have any questions regarding medications or care they will need during the school day. Certain procedures and most medications will require written orders from your student's doctor or nurse practitioner if they are to be completed at school.
