Curriculum Vitae

Hello, thank you for a virtual visit!

I grew up in a small village in China and went to Shanghai for college and postgraduate educations in environmental engineering. In 1999, I was fortunate to be able to come to the United States to pursue a Ph.D. degree with Dr. M. Bruce Beck at the University of Georgia. Four years later, I was awarded a Ph.D. in water and soil resources and an M.S. in statistics.

I joined the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering at NDSU as assistant professor of soil and water resources engineering in December 2008. Before joining NDSU, I was a postdoctoral research associate working for Dr. David E. Radcliffe at the University of Georgia and a contractor working for the St. Johns River Water Management District in Florida. Since joining NDSU, I have been developing a research program on environmental systems analysis and modeling that is primarily funded by extramural funding. My recent research interests include impact analysis of climate and land use changes on water resources, risk assessment and remediation of salt-affected soils, and food-energy-water nexus. While at NDSU, I have been teaching one introductory course, two upper-level division courses and two graduate-level courses. I am also an adjunct professor in the Department of Earth System Science and Policy at the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks.

Please send me an email or give me a call if you have any questions.

Warm regards from Fargo!
