Conference Lodging, Registration, and Meals

Rooms have been reserved by Notre Dame Conference services in Flaherty Hall. These accomodations are available for a cost of $62.50 per person per night (single accomodation) or $52.50 per person per night (double accomodation). Dormitory checkin is available starting at 4pm. Flaherty Hall is within 10 minutes walking distance of the conference center (see map below). There are no telephones or bathing facilities in individual rooms. Therefore, participants should bring bathrobes, shower clogs, etc. Soap, bed linens, and towels will be provided, but each participant should bring an alarm clock and extra towel.

Additionally, a small block of rooms has been held at the Fairfield Inn and Suites (1220 E. Angela Boulevard, South Bend IN; walking distance from the conference locations), and these rooms may be claimed by contacting the conference organizers. A useful walking map is given below.

You may also choose to make your own reservations to stay at a location of your choice. If you require parking during the conference, complimentary self-parking is available in the gated BK1 lot, near the Notre Dame Bookstore. This is a 2 block walk back to the hotel and conference center; please pull up to the valet in front of the Morris Inn (across Notre Dame Avenue from McKenna) and inform them that you wish to self-park. The valet will provide you with a code, hang tag and walking map. Event valet parking for a conference or event is $10 per day.

Registration is available in three tiers, Faculty ($80), Graduate Student/Postdoc ($65) and Undergraduate ($40). This cost covers your registration materials, continental breakfast, coffee breaks, working lunches and the conference Banquet on Monday, June 5.

Continental Breakfasts and Coffee Breaks will be provided in the atrium just outside 100-104 McKenna where the oral sessions will be held. The opening night reception and poster session will also be held here; there will be refreshments provided. Lunches will be held at South Dining Hall, a short walk from McKenna. Your conference nametag will serve as your lunch ticket. The conference banquet and Keynote will be held at the Private Dining Room of the Morris Inn, across Notre Dame Avenue from McKenna. On Tuesday, box lunches will be made available for departing attendees beginning at 4pm to facilitate travel.

Further details regarding arrival and check-in procedures are available in the letter sent with your confirmation, a copy of which is posted here. Additionally, an interactive campus map at map.nd.edu will be useful in planning your arrival and in locating other points of interest on campus. If you have any other questions, please contact the conference organizers.

Technical Sessions:

The technical sessions will take place in McKenna Hall rooms 100-104, which has a seating capacity of 100 people. AV support will be available during the technical sessions. The poster session, and working breakfast and breaks, will take place in the adjoining atrium. Notre Dame Conference Services will provide easels for the poster session; these will accomodate a standard 48" x 36" poster, so poster presenters should plan accordingly. A "blank" template is here.
