Conference Program

The full program, including abstracts for contributed and invited talks is available here. A smaller version without the abstracts is here. An at-a-glance version without session details is here. A few details for presenters and attendees:

  • Poster easels will be provided for the opening night poster session in McKenna Hall. These are capable of fitting a standard 48"x36" poster. You should print out your poster in advance and bring it with you.

    • Contributed talks have been scheduled as 18 minutes in length, including questions. This was done to accommodate the oral talks without elongating the sessions too much. Similar lengths are frequently used at national conferences such as the AIChE meeting. A good rule of thumb is to plan for 15 minutes talk and 3 minutes of questions/setup for the next speaker.

  • Invited talks are scheduled for 40 minutes; this is a bit over twice the time alotted to contributed talks. Speakers should plan to leave 4-5 minutes for questions at the end.

  • Questions are welcomed, but we will try to stay on schedule with the large number of talks. If you don't have a chance to ask your question during the allotted time after a presentation, catch the speaker at one of the meals or coffee breaks! The size of this conference is very conducive to these interactions and we recommend you take advantage.

  • AV support will be in place during the conference, and we should have the necessary connectors for any laptop available. If your laptop uses a special connector, please bring one along just in case.

  • Loading a backup copy of your talk (both in native and .pdf format) onto a USB drive will allow us to use another laptop should issues arise with the projector or your chosen device.
