The three performing groups were the NC State Pipes and Drums, the Irish Session at NCSU, and the NC State British Brass Band. Joining the Irish Session musicians were dancers from the Inis Cairde School of Irish Dance in Raleigh.
The NCSU Irish Session was scheduled to perform in the next "Music of the British Isles" concert on Monday, March 3rd, 2014, 7pm, in Witherspoon Cinema Auditorium, 2610 Cates Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27606. Unfortunately the concert was cancelled due to bad weather and was not rescheduled.
Since 2008, the Irish Session at NCSU has been invited to play in the NC State Pipes and Drums spring concert, "Music from the British Isles." The session musicians play a variety of tune medleys including jigs, reels, hornpipes, slip jigs, and polkas. Irish step dancers from Inis Cairde School of Irish Dance and Trionoide Academy of Irish Dance have joined us for some of the concerts.
